Board Vacancies


There are vacancies on our Planning and Zoning Commission and Design Review Board and it is very important that we fill them asap. Currently, we do not have a quorum on either board. It is important to have full boards (five qualified members) in order to best serve our applicants. Council will be convening on Wednesday, June 6, at 5 p.m. to consider appointments to the Boards from among the applicants on file at that time. The purpose of the Design Review Board is to review the exterior design of new buildings and structures, the alteration of buildings and structures, landscaping plans, signs, and proposed demolition of structures within the Historic Overlay District in order to ensure that new development is compatible with the surrounding environment and to preserve and protect the historic character of the Town of Jerome.

  • Members must be residents of Jerome with design background, training or experience
  • Three year term
  • Regular meetings on the second Monday of each month


The Planning and Zoning Commission undertakes Planning and Zoning activities as set forth in the Town’s Zoning Ordinance, including formulating and administering the Town’s General Plan; conducting public hearings as needed; making recommendations to Council regarding zoning districts, regulations, and Conditional Use permits; and reviewing preliminary and final site plans.

  • Members must be residents of Jerome
  • Three year term
  • Regular meetings on the first Wednesday of each month


The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals in which it is alleged there is an error in an order, requirement or decision made by the zoning administrator in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance, and hears and decides appeals for variances from the terms of the zoning ordinance if, because of special circumstances applicable to the property, the strict application of the zoning ordinance will deprive such property of privileges enjoyed by other property of the same classification in the same zoning district.

  • Members must be residents of Jerome
  • Three year term
  • Meets, if needed, on the first Thursday of the month, and at least once per year.
