Board Vacancies

The Town of Jerome is currently seeking to fill vacancies on our Planning & Zoning Commission, Design Review Board and Board of Adjustment.

The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals in which it is alleged there is an error in an order, requirement or decision made by the zoning administrator in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance, and hears and decides appeals for variances from the terms of the zoning ordinance if, because of special circumstances applicable to the property, the strict application of the zoning ordinance will deprive such property of privileges enjoyed by other property of the same classification in the same zoning district.

The Design Review Board was established to preserve and protect the historical character of Jerome. The duties of the Board are to review the exterior design of new buildings and structures, exterior alterations, signs, landscaping, and proposed demolition within Jerome to ensure that development is compatible with the surrounding environment.

The Planning and Zoning Commission was established at the time the Jerome Zoning Ordinance was adopted to help formulate and administer lawful plans adopted by the Town Council relating to the present and future growth and development of the Town. The Commission consists of five members appointed by the Town Council, each of whom must reside in Jerome.

Members must be Town residents, and Design Review Board members must be qualified to serve by design background, training or experience. Each board meets monthly, as needed. Members serve three-year terms.

If you are interested in serving, please contact Zoning Administrator Charlotte Page at, or by phone at (928) 634-7943.
