Information for Candidates

January 3, 2022 - Council candidate packets for the upcoming primary and general elections are now available in the Town Clerk’s office.

In order to run for the office of Councilmember in Jerome, you must be, at the time of filing, at least 18 years of age, a qualified and registered elector, and current on any campaign finance violation fines, penalties or judgments. In addition, you must have been a resident of Jerome for at least one year as of the election date.

The packets include all necessary forms, and a great deal of information regarding campaign finance regulations, which you should review carefully.

Nominating petitions may be filed with the Town Clerk’s office no sooner than March 5, 2022 and no later than April 4, 2022, and must include at least eight and no more than sixteen (16) signatures.

The Primary Election will take place on August 2, 2022, and the General Election on November 8, 2022.

Often, all five Council members are elected at the primary election. If a runoff is necessary, it will take place at the general election. The 2022-24 Council will be seated following the general election in November.
