Planning & Zoning Administration
The Town of Jerome is valued for a variety of unique qualities. Perched high on a hillside with steep slopes and sliding hills to contend with, the Jerome community is known for its tenacity and ability to survive. It is a well-known artist's community whose architectural and historic heritage has been carefully preserved. It is the mission of the Planning and Zoning Department to preserve and enhance the unique qualities of Jerome.
Planning activities can generally be divided into current, long range, special projects, and public outreach. The Planning and Zoning Department is a resource for contractors, property owners, business owners, citizens, and other town departments and provides information to the public about General Plan policies and land use. The Planning Division provides professional support for the Planning and Zoning Commission, Design Review Board, Board of Adjustment, and Town Council, and reviews all land use applications, including lot alterations, variances, conditional use permits, and rezoning, to assure compliance with the Town's zoning codes.
